Marrakech, eh?

Perched on the edge of the Sahara Desert with the High Atlas Mountain range in the background, Marrakech is the Moorish jewel in Morocco's crown. 🏜

The ramparts are all baby pink, the streets are a terracotta tangle, and in the markets, rich spices are piled high. In the ancient centre you’ll stumble across snake charmers and get rubbed down (steady) in a local hammam.

One henna hand tattoo and 20 lamb tagines later - you'll never want to leave.

Where will I sleep?

This little Marrakech hideaway is made for switching off and staying horizontal by the pool. Set on a huge one-hectare estate in the peaceful Palmeraie, there are just seven rooms, each with its own private terrace.

Start the day with a free breakfast, then book yourself into the hammam, squeeze in some yoga, or head to the rooftop for dreamy Atlas Mountain views. And when you’re ready to swap peace and quiet for the beautiful chaos of Marrakech, Jemaa el-Fnaa is just 25 minutes away.

What will I do?

You’ll want to tick off the chicest spot in Marrakech - the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. This place is a shrine to the city’s fave expat. Soak up the fashion and feel-good architecture, then head next door to the Jardin Majorelle Botanical Gardens for some serious indigo vibes and a peek at plants from every nook and cranny of the globe. 🌴

Haggling for bargains at the souks is an extreme sport but the payoff is well worth it - think African spices, legit Berber rugs, and artisanally crafted homeware.

Phew! Recover from the marketplace madness with a glass of chilled wine and a snack in the whimsical oasis that is Le Jardin Restaurant.

One of the best ways to get the High Atlas mountain range and teeny Berber villages in your peepers is from above. Ciel d’Afrique does luxe hot-air balloon rides. They’ll take you up early in the morning when the melty sunrise is just beginning.
